Bill Boner

William Hill "Bill" Boner ( born February 14, 1945 in Nashville, Tennessee) is an American politician.

Bill Boner attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, where he received his Bachelor of Science in 1967. His Master of Arts in 1969, he earned at the Peabody College in Nashville. He worked from 1972 to 1976 in the banking industry as well as 1976-1977 as a legal clerk. From 1970-1972 and 1974-1976 Boner was a member of the House of Representatives from Tennessee. Then he sat from 1976 to 1978 in the state Senate.

1978 Boner was elected as a Democrat to the 96th Congress and represented there the fifth electoral district of the state of Tennessee from 3 January 1979 until his resignation on 5 October 1987 in the U.S. House of Representatives. Boner had previously been elected on 22 September 1987 as successor to Richard H. Fulton mayor of Nashville and resigned the office now on 5 October. He completed a term of office, ie until 1991, was mayor.
