Bill Horr

Bill Horr (actually Marquis Franklin Horr, born 2 May 1880 in Munnsville, New York, † July 1, 1955 in Syracuse, New York) was an American athlete and American football coach.

At the Olympic Games in London in 1908, he won silver in the discus throw in the Greek style and bronze in free style. In the shot put and hammer throw, he came sixth.

In the same year he became U.S. champion in the discus throw.

In the tug of war games in London, he finished fifth with the U.S. team.

In 1909 he was at Northwestern University and from 1910 to 1912 at Purdue University coach of the football team. From 1914 to 1923 he was assistant football coach at his alma mater, Syracuse University. He then practiced as a lawyer.
