Bill Walker (basketball)

William (Bill) Henry Walker ( born October 9, 1987 in Huntington, West Virginia ) is an American professional basketball player who played for the New York Knicks in the NBA. He is currently playing for the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League.

High School and College

Walker played three years for the North College Hill High School near Cincinnati. Together with O.J. Mayo, who now also plays in the NBA, he led his team to two divisional titles in the Ohio Division III and was considered a great high school talent with many awards.

Walker had offers from many colleges and elected to the Kansas State University is a top address for basketball from. Despite some injuries Walker played two very compelling years in Kansas and decided, along with Michael Beasley, to register for the 2008 NBA Draft.

NBA

In a workout he was injured severely in the knee, which is why he was chosen to only 47 out of the Washington Wizards. There he was, however, equal to further traded to the Boston Celtics.

Because of his injury and the great competition at the beginning of the season Walker summed up but never really walk in the rotation of Doc Rivers. Therefore, he was sent in November to the NBA Development League for the Utah Flash, but ordered back two months later due to lack of staff. The same thing happened a year later Walker. From 23 December 2009, it was back in the squad of the Boston Celtics. On February 18, the day of the trading deadline, Walker was traded along with JR Giddens and Eddie House to the New York Knicks. In his new coach Mike D' Antoni, he got much more playing time and was allowed to start even.

After the dismissal of D' Antoni during the 2011/2012 season, the season of Walker fell again, and he finally got to the 2012/2013 season a new contract more in New York. After Walker was initially able to find a new club, he decided in February 2013 a contract in the NBA Development League to sign.
