Origin and History

Is named the breed after the place Billy in the French Poitou, the residence of the Erstzüchters Hublot you Rivault. He used for the breeding of the three Billy now extinct breeds, the Céris, the Montaimboeuf and Larrye. Even Billy was threatened after the Second World War with extinction, only two copies had survived the war. This extremely small gene pool makes the breed very prone to genetic diseases.
