Bimaristan

Bīmārestān (Persian بیمارستان ) is the Persian term for hospital ( BIMAR = "sick" Pahlavi (from: vimar or Vemar ), with the suffix " - stan" = location). Both the term bīmārestān and mārestān the shorter version found its way into al - ʿ arabiyya ( Arabic ). The medieval Umma used the term already as a place to which the patient was able to recuperate thanks to professional help.

The oldest Iranian Hospital, exist over the information was in the Academy of Gundischapur (formerly Bēt Lapát, Syriac: Beth- Lapat ). It was established at an unknown time (after 271) and of the then conventional medicine was prescribed.
