Binarowa

Binarowa ( Deutsch. Bienerhau ) is a village in the municipality Biecz in powiat Gorlicki in the Voivodship Lesser Poland near the town of Gorlice.

It is 1389 as Benerhaw first mentioned as a medieval German settlement in the Carpathian Mountains.

Wooden church of the Archangel Michael

Binarowa is known for its wooden church, the parish church of the Archangel Michael (Polish kościół Sw. Michała Archanioła ), which is a UNESCO World Heritage since 2003 ( Wooden Churches of Southern Little Poland). The church today preserved dates from about the year 1500, after a previous building had burned down (from about 1400). Inside precious paintings from the 16th to the 18th century and sculptures can be admired from the 14th century.
