Binter Canarias

Binter Canarias Binter Lineas Aéreas de Canarias actually, is a Spanish regional airline based in the Canary Islands.

History

Binter Canarias took in 1989 as a subsidiary of Iberia on its operation with four Airtech CN -235 aircraft. Initially, only Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Fuerteventura and La Palma were served, later the airports of Lanzarote and El Hierro were added. The last La Gomera was included in the flight network in 1999 after the inauguration of the new airport, finally as Funchal, Madeira, El Aaiun in Western Sahara, Milan and Paris.

In 1990, Binter carried out a total 15,553 flights, which were transported 578 635 passengers. Air traffic increased continuously. 2003, the number of all flights 49 217 with 2,267,232 passengers this year. The Company maintains a number of booking offices called Binter Vende and cooperation with Iberia and Naysa.

Objectives

Binter Canarias connects almost all the seven islands with their eight airports directly with each other; also the island of Madeira and the Western Sahara is served. The headquarters of the company is located in Telde at the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport in Gran Canaria. This airport is also the hub of Binter.

Incidents

On 11 December 2013, the machine has come off with the identification EC- LFA at the landing on the Tenerife North airport from the runway. Here, the front wheel is stuck next to the runway on the ground. There were no injuries.
