Binyamin Elon
Benjamin Elon (Hebrew בנימין אֵלון, born November 10, 1954 in Jerusalem) is an Israeli politician and rabbi.
Biography
Life
Elon studied at Merkas HaRaw Kook and the Jeschiwat ha - Idra, where he was ordained as a rabbi in 1978. Together with Chanan Porat, he founded the Beit Orot Talmudic College and was Dean. He is the author of God's Covenant with Israel: Establishing Biblical Boundaries in Today 's World ( 2005).
Policy
As a Member of the National Union, he was Minister of Tourism from 31/10/2001-14/3/2002. He was also a member of the Knesset of Moledet and the National Union of 1996 and 2009.
Elon wants a continuation of Israel's settlement policy in the West Bank and a return to Gush Katif. He rejects the Road map for peace.
