Biodanzakurse

A Biodanzakurs usually consists of several dates. The dates refer to the rule once a week and usually last 1.5 to 3 hours. The entire course lasts 2 to 3 or more months to a year. Courses and individual appointments are referred to differently in practice: The course is designated as a course, class, group, etc.. A single appointment is as evening session, Vivencia (Spanish experience ), lesson, class designated or the like. In this article, price is for the entire course and session for a single appointment.

A Biodanza session usually consists of two parts:

Each of these dances is to enable participants to enriching experiences and is therefore also referred to as Vivencia (see above). Deviations from this structure - especially in weekend workshops - possible.

The language in a session is predominantly poetic and figurative and adapted to the participants and the current situation in the group. The instructions used by Biodanzaleiter are intended to stimulate the experience.

The Roundtable

In the discussion a first opportunity is given to know the other dancers and mitzubekommen, what moves them emotionally currently (or moved in the previous session has ). These shares each participant - as far as he or she wants - the other short with how he feels. Subsequently, the Biodanzaleiter before the course or the theme of the current session. This is followed by the sequence of dances joins.

The dances in the session

The sequence of dances is compiled according to the criteria of Biodanzatheorie and adapted to the situation in the group. You want the participants - give suggestions for their own development process and enable concrete steps in this process - as a whole as well as in every single dance.

The individual dance is introduced and motivated by Biodanzaleiter. Participants are individually or jointly, to find their own individual implementation of the proposed dance then asked. The participants individually in a relaxed dance sequence with one or more (also changing ) dance partners or jointly in the whole group.

For each dance a specially selected music is played, which is to primarily support the experience. The aim is to achieve a pleasant and intense dancing and meeting experiences. Good integration of feelings in the overall identity is by Biodanza a fundamental requirement for their own development process. To facilitate the dancers dipping into the immediate experience of themselves, verbal communication is reduced to a minimum during the dance.

Biodanza emphasizes the inner, psychosomatic effects of the dances. Aesthetic value, sportiness, special steps or sequences of steps, etc. do not matter. The dances expand with lots of fun and joy, the behavior and movement repertoire of the participants. Perform medium and long term, to changes in our everyday behavior and feeling.

The first foundations he laid in 1968 in his work with mental health patients. He held a chair of art and psychology of expression of the Instituto de Estética de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and was a lecturer at the Research Centre of the Medical Faculty at the University of Chile in the field of medical anthropology. In this framework, organized from 1968 to 1973 dance events for patients in the psychiatric clinic in Santiago de Chile, which he called Psicodanza ( Psycho dance). His original goal was to make the psychiatry of the time human. He gained experience on the effect of different music and movement exercises on various diseases. This was the basis of his later extended theoretical model of mechanism of Biodanza dar.

His events were soon popular in student circles and among other people. He recognized a general human benefit for many participants, who went beyond the original psychiatric context beyond. In order to take account of the claim of the method to holism and inclusiveness, the system was renamed in Biodanza and differentiated theoretically by him and his students and expanded to include many practical elements.

In 1974 he emigrated to Buenos Aires, where he turned to Biodanza at an institute for cancer follow-up. In Argentina, he was appointed professor at the Universidad Abierta Interamericana de Buenos Aires.

In 1979 he went to Brazil and opened the first Institute of Biodanza there. He also continued to work with the mentally ill and women who are being treated for breast cancer. In 1989 he emigrated to Milan in Italy. In 1998, he returned to his home country Chile.

Rolando Toro was president and a founder of the IBF (International Biocentric Foundation), which coordinates most of the activities of Biodanza present. He gave workshops and lectures throughout the world. In Brazil, he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Paraiba. He was the father of 18 children. Research

Biodanza has been studied esp. by the work of pieces and Villegas as part of dissertation or habilitation projects since 1998 at the Universities of Leipzig and Bunenos Aires. The Leipzig researchers have published results demonstrating, inter alia, significant improvements in emotion expression in social situations, reduced encounter fears and increased differentiation capability and antidepressant effects of Biodanza. Furthermore, a pro-active problem-solving behavior and improved anger regulation showed. Positive effects were found in terms of increased optimism and relaxationsorientiertere settings, greater ability to enjoy and decreased psychosomatic complaints. Another study by Wolff shows that Biodanza experienced people enjoy more music in everyday life. Culture Cross put an Biodanzapraktizierende music targeted to regulate their emotional states in everyday life.

These results indicate that the postulated positive effect is true in regard to health promotion and stress reduction.
