Biowall

A BioWall is a mosaic of thousands of identical electronic components. Each component can display different patterns. Through contact with the finger, the status of the element changed. Since the program of BioWall is stored in each cell, parts of this wall can be damaged without any change in the global pattern. The wall was designed as a pilot application of the new technology from researchers at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.

Possible applications include electronic circuits in safety-related areas that can repair itself.
