Bir Uttom

The Bir Uttom ( German: " The excellent Hero" ) is named after the Bir Sreshtho the second highest war decoration of the armed forces of Bangladesh. The award was introduced on 15 December 1973. It was awarded to a total of 69 freedom fighters for outstanding bravery in the face of the enemy in the Bangladesh war. The third highest war decoration is the Bir Bikrom, the fourth highest of Bir Protik.
