BirdLife Cyprus

BirdLife Cyprus ( Πτηνολογικός Σύνδεσμος / BirdLife Cyprus ) is a conservation organization founded in 2003 in Cyprus, which advocates for the protection of birds and the preservation of habitats for birds. In addition, the organization for the idea of bird protection is trying to advertise. BirdLife Cyprus is the Cypriot partner of Birdlife International.

History

BirdLife Cyprus is a non-governmental and not-for- profit membership association that emerged from the merger of two Cypriot ornithological societies in 2003. The office of the Association is now in Strakka, Nicosia.

Activities

The organization has set up a scientific monitoring system for the avifauna in Cyprus and published their data in monthly and annual reports. There are regular censuses of waterfowl that frequent birds and by pulling birds of prey. In addition, BirdLife Cyprus is committed to a strong monitoring and réglementation the traditionally strong bird hunting.
