Birdy (musician)
Birdy (born 15 May 1996 Lymington, Hampshire, United Kingdom; actually Jasmine van den Bogaerde ) is an English pop singer Dutch- Belgian descent.
Life
Jasmine van den Bogaerde was born in Lymington ( Hampshire) and is the great-niece of the actor Dirk Bogarde. The age of six she learned from her mother, a concert pianist, playing the piano and began writing his own songs at age eight.

Career
With only 12 years, she took part in the Open Mic UK 2008, a talent contest, which began with local precipitations with thousands of participants and ended with the final of the 22 qualified 29 November 2008 in Portsmouth. There, she won both the category " under 18 " and the Appreciation Grand Prize titled Be Free, which she had composed herself.
As a prize for her victory, she was given six-day studio recordings. A little more than two years it took up to their first release under her nickname Birdy. In March 2011, appeared Skinny Love, a cover version of a song from Bon Iver, which brought them into the top 20 of the UK Singles Chart. Their second single, Shelter, originally by The xx, came into the charts in June.

On September 27, 2013 their album Fire Within, from which pre- Birdy the songs Wings and No Angel on iTunes released for sale appeared.
