Birgit Großhennig

Birgit Großhennig ( born February 21, 1965 in Blankenburg ) is a former German track and field athlete.

She took in 1981 and 1983 respectively at the European junior championships and finished 1981 with 1.84 m and 1.85 m respectively in 1983 with fourth place in the high jump. Your personal record in high jump is 1.88 m from the year 1981.

On June 9, 1984 Birgit Großhennig jumped 7.00 meters in the long jump. With this size it is today still in fifth place of eternal German leaderboard and is one of the 60 jumpers who have surpassed to this day the 7 -meter mark (as of 30 December 2012).

She started for Lok Blankenburg and SC Magdeburg. In the becoming public knowledge after the fall of documents to the state doping in the GDR was found in the doped athletes also the name of Großhennig.
