Birgit Hagen

Birgit Hagen (born 6 June 1957 Grevenbroich, after marriage Blasberg ) is a former German hockey player and Olympian 1984.

Birgit Hagen played in blue and white and Cologne was the center of Cologne in 1979 and 1980 German Champion Hall, 1980, she was also champion in field hockey. After finishing her international career, she played for two years at the Düsseldorf- HC.

The midfielder made ​​his debut in 1975 in the German national hockey team. Birgit Hagen took part in four World Cups. 1976 and 1981 they won the title in 1978 she finished second and only in 1983 they did not come in fourth in the medal ranks. 1975, 1977 and 1981, she was European Indoor champion. At the European Championships in 1984 she won with the team to third place. In 1984 she went with the German team for the Olympic Games to Los Angeles and won silver behind the team from the Netherlands. Since the 1981 World Championship, she was captain of the German national team. Overall, Birgit Hagen worked from 1975 to 1984 in 145 international matches with, including 28 in the hall. Birgit Blasberg now lives in Neuss, where two of her three sons in black and white Neuss playing hockey.
