Birifor is a language of Ghana and has there about 125,000 speakers (2003) in the northwestern corner of the country. It is spoken by the Volkdgruppe the Birifor as their mother tongue.
It is further used by approximately 4,000 speakers in the northeast of the Ivory Coast. Alternative names are Birifo, Ghana Birifor. Birifor count as an independent language in addition Wali, Daagri and Malba - Birifor in Burkina Faso.
