Birthe Kjær

Birthe Kjær ( born September 1, 1948 in Aarhus ) is a Danish pop singer.

Already in the late 1960s, began her singing career and she released from there almost an album every year. She took in 1980, 1986 and 1987 at the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in part but without a victory. However, in 1989 she won the Danish qualifying round and was therefore entitled to compete in the Concours Euro Vision Song Contest 1989 in Lausanne for their homeland. With the hit Vi painter byens rød she reached the third place.

In 1990, she hosted the Danish pre-selection for Euro Vision Song Contest.

In 2004 she had a chart hit with the Safri Duo: The single hvor ` vi fra? was the anthem for the Danish team in the European Football Championship 2004. 2005 she was at the dance show Vild med dans, the Danish Let's Dance to participate, but suffered a heart attack during rehearsals, but followed by a quick recovery. In 2009, she again presented the Danish pre-selection for Euro Vision Song Contest.
