Biryawaza

Biria Waza ( Akkadian MBir5 -ia -wa- za ), also Birijawaza, Birjawaza, Biryawaza ( in previous readings Namiawaza ) was the son of a Šutarna. He practiced as a sort of governor of the Egyptians from a power position in the area of Ube and Kumidi. His works from the end of the reign of Amenhotep III. be dated to the early years of Akhenaten (ca. 1355 BC to 1347 BC).

Biria Waza was a faithful vassal of Egypt, who was implicated by Aziru of Amuru and Aitakama of Kadesh in armed conflict and not be persuaded to a connection to the Hittite Empire. In the Amarna letter EA 151 of Abi - Milki the attacks on the region of the Biria Waza are documented: Aitakama of Kadesh and Amurru of Aziru are at war with Biria Waza.
