Bjarne Brustad

Bjarne Brustad ( born March 4, 1895 in Kristiania, † May 20, 1978 in Oslo) was a Norwegian composer, violinist and violist.

Brustad studied composition and violin at the Conservatory of Oslo and Berlin, where Gustav Lange, Emil and Carl Flesch Telmányi was one of his teachers. He then played as a violinist and violist in the symphony orchestra of the Philharmonic Society of Oslo and was from 1928 to 1943 principal violist of the orchestra. In addition, he taught violin and composition at the State Academy of Music.
