Björgólfur Thor Björgólfsson

Björgólfur Thor Björgólfsson ( born March 19, 1967 in Iceland ) Icelandic entrepreneur and is listed as the only Icelander on the Forbes list of the richest people in the world.

He is the majority owner of the bank Landsbanki. In December 2005, he purchased 630 million euros 65 % stake in the Bulgarian Telecommunications Company BTK.

He inherited from his father Björgólfur Guðmundsson, who had emigrated in the early 1980s from Iceland to St. Petersburg and there built more than one company 's assets. The family owning Beer Group sold the family 2001 Heineken at a price of about 315 million euros, of which he received a third directly. Subsequently, the family moved back to Iceland and subsequently acquired the shares in Landsbanki.

Björgólfur holds more shares in Finnair and the generic manufacturer Actavis. In 2005, he expressed his interest in buying the mobile phone company Tele Ring in Austria.
