Björn Emmerling

Björn Emmerling ( born November 16, 1975 in Würzburg ) is a German hockey player from Harvestehuder THC transferred to 1 Hanauer THC in 2008.

The defender gave his international debut in 1996 in the jersey of the German national team. Between 1996 and 2004 he took part in the Olympic Games three times. 2002 and 2006 he was World Champion with the German team.

After the 2006 World Cup he gave in September 2006 his retirement from international football known. In total he played 256 matches and scored 58 goals. In 2007 he was elected to Mönchengladbach "Sportsman of the Year".
