BK Häcken

The BK Hacken ( officially: Bollklubben Hacken ) is a football club based in the Swedish city of Gothenburg, who plays in the highest soccer league in Sweden Allsvenskan. The club is based in the Rambergsvallen district.

The BK Hacken was established on August 2, 1940. The club colors are black and yellow. The stadium is called Rambergsvallen and offers 7,000 spectators. The record attendance was achieved on 10 April 2000 with 8,379 spectators against IFK Gothenburg, that game ended 3:1 for IFK Göteborg.

To date, BK Hacken played 13 seasons in the Allsvenskan (1983, 1993-1994, 1998, 2000-2001, 2005-2006 and since 2009). After relegation in 2006 they missed the fourth place in the 2007 Superettan only just the direct return to the Allsvenskan. The climb finally succeeded in the 2008 season with a second place in the Superettan. This makes the BK Hacken since the 2009 season back in the Allsvenskan.

The best placement reached the club in 2012 with a second place in Allsvenskan. The BK Hacken then stepped in qualifying for the UEFA Europa League 2013/14 and retired there in the third round against FC Thun after he surprisingly in the second round against Sparta Prague had been able to prevail.

The Association is the organizer of the youth tournament Gothia Cup.
