Playing career

Sekulic began his career with his hometown club KK Budućnost Podgorica. In December of 2000 he was listed there as 2,02 m large outdoor players. Sekulic, who was also Yugoslavian youth international, already at age 18 had his first brief appearances in the Euro League. After a growth spurt he was retrained by his coaches to the internal player. He continued his career in the following years at Partizan Belgrade as well as in the Greek first division club AEK Athens, Marousi GS and PAOK Thessaloniki continued before an offer from Real Madrid followed in January 2007, with whom he was in 2007 ULEB Cup champion and Spanish masters. After an engagement at Aris Thessaloniki, he moved in February 2009 to ALBA Berlin in order to provide compensation for the injured Patrick Femerling. In 2010 he managed with Alba - in his view again - a place in the final match at the ULEB Eurocup, which was lost against the Spanish representative Power Electronics Valencia. After the play-offs for the German championship were disappointing for the club, Sekulic left Berlin to Italy. After a year at Vanoli Cremona in 2011, he signed a contract with the Spanish club from Murcia. After relegation, he moved after one season to the Premiership returnees and climbers from Tenerife. This achieved with balanced a good tenth place and just missed a place in the play-offs for the championship. In the following season Sekulic was in the first three months of the season as the most effective player in the league twice Player of the Month. Beginning in February 2014 bought him the injury- plagued Turkish Euro League club Fenerbahçe Ülker from his contract out and Sekulic moved to Istanbul, where he played under legendary coach Zeljko Obradovic of Europe.
