Blake Alphonso Higgs

Blake Alphonso Higgs ( born 1915 in Matthew Town, Inagua, Bahamas, † 1986), better known as " Blind Blake " was between the 1930s and 1960s, the most famous of all musicians of the Goombay / calypso style in the Bahamas.

For most of his career Blind Blake was engaged at the Royal Victoria Hotel in Nassau. Part of his extensive repertoire was the song Love, Love Alone, a composition by the calypso artist Caresser from Trinidad over the abdication of King Edward VIII Blind Blake Calypso's version of this is to have self also like the former king, who - as the Duke of Windsor - during the Second world War, Governor of the Bahamas.
