Blockhead (music producer)

Blockhead (born Anthony " Tony" Simon ") is an American hip hop producer and electronic musician and is the label Ninja Tune under contract. He works further along with the hip- hop label Definitive Jux and Aesop Rock.

Biography

The Manhattan-born son of the New York sculptor Sidney Simon worked since 1997 active as a musician. After initial experiments as a hip -hop MC, he chose to work behind the scenes and began working as a producer. For this purpose he used the typical hip-hop sampler in conjunction with vinyl records. In the album Music by Cavelight however, there are also guest musicians such as bassist Damien Paris or Omega One on the turntables. His first official production was released in 1999 on a publication by Aesop Rock. His first album Music by Cavelight was published on 24 March 2004 by Ninja Tune.

Since 2013 he formed the duo and rapper Illogic Illogic & Blockhead. Until now, under this project name four publications, all about the label Man Bites Dog Records.
