Blohm & Voss P 212

The Blohm & Voss P 212 was a study of a single-seater German jet fighter of the year 1945. The design is based on the Blohm & Voss P 208, only a Heinkel HeS was 011 jet engine provided instead of a piston engine with a pusher propeller. The Blohm & Voss P 212 participated in the tender for the OKL end of 1944 after a single-seat day fighter with jet turbine, four MK 108 and a required maximum speed of 1000 km / h part. Compared to the other designs in the Blohm & Voss P 212 was defeated won the tender, the Junkers EF 128

The design showed a mid-wing monoplane with retractable landing gear, cylindrical trunk, carrying the engine and double tail boom on swept wings.

Compared to the Messerschmitt Me 262 ordered the study on a better Schub-/Gewichtsverhältnis, sophisticated aerodynamics and only one engine. Nevertheless should 965 km / h can be achieved. Since the prototype would have foreseen lasted until the fall of 1945, the project was not pursued, although initially three prototypes were ordered.
