Blood Ceremony

Blood Ceremony (English, Blood Ceremony ' ) is a Canadian doom metal band from Toronto. The band's name comes from the title of the Spanish horror film Occasion Dresses sangrienta ( German title Countess Dracula ) with Lucia Bosé.

History

The band was founded in 2006 and played concerts with Danava, The Illuminati and the Swedes Witchcraft in Canada and the United States. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2008 in the UK record label Rise Above Records, which had the band in 2007 was offered a recording contract. The following year, the band played on the VnV rock Altitude Festival in Le Locle, together with The Haunted, Electric Wizard and Samael and accompanied subsequently Electric Wizard on their European tour. The second studio album Living with the Ancients was released in 2011 on Rise Above Records ( Europe ) and Metal Blade Records ( North America). In April, followed by a performance at the Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, as well as some concerts in Germany together with the Swedish band Ghost.

Style

Blood Ceremony play doom metal with influences of progressive, folk and psychedelic rock, which was compared with the music of Pentagram, Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull and Black Widow. The lyrics of the band deal with occult and horror themes typical.
