Blood Money (Tom-Waits-Album)

Blood Money is a book published in 2002 Epitaph Records album of Tom Waits. It contains songs which wrote Woyzeck - staging of the composer Robert Wilson. The work had on 21 November 2000 at the Betty Nansen Theatre in Copenhagen premiere. Previously, Waits had already contributed the music for the Wilson - productions The Black Rider and Alice. The Woyzeck fabric itself had been adapted in the past several times for the musical theater, including Alban Berg 's opera Wozzeck for its. The title of the album Blood Money received as Woyzeck in the United States is not the same level of awareness has in Europe.

The overall gloomy mood of the compositions, most of which Waits wrote with his wife Kathleen Brennan, corresponds to the state of mind in which the title character is in Georg Büchner's dramatic fragment Woyzeck. This can be seen as a contrast to the published simultaneously and as more playful album called Alice, which is based on Alice in Wonderland.

For critics, the work was received overwhelmingly positive, blessed, for example, sensitive handling of the submission and implementation of the literary material into music theater.
