Bloomfield Township is a charter township in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is an affluent suburb of Detroit, which is sometimes just called Bloomfield, and the official name of Charter Township of Bloomfield contributes to clarify that the Township has advanced municipal rights. In the 2000 census, the township had 43,023 inhabitants.

The township was established in 1827, the first township of Oakland County. Within its boundaries is the Oakland Hills Country Club, where the 2004 Ryder Cup golf competition was held. Many residents have their mail address is either under Bloomfield Hills or Birmingham (Michigan ), since the districts this post neighboring cities extend beyond the municipal boundaries.
