Blu -ray Disc Association ( BDA) is an association of companies for the development and commercialization of the media Blu- ray Disc

History

In February 2002, founded nine leading electronics companies, including Matsushita, Pioneer, Philips, Thomson, LG Electronics, Hitachi, Sharp, Samsung and Sony Blu- ray Disc Founders. At a later date, the Association renamed in Blu -ray Disc Association. They formed the counterpart to the DVD Forum, which opted for the development of HD DVD.

2003 and early 2004, concluded the nine founders of four other companies: Mitsubishi Electric, Dell, HP and TDK.

In order to get more members and supporters, was finally established in 2004, the Blu -ray Association, which today has over 250 members.
