Blue Islands is a trading name of the airline AirX Limited, based in St. Peter Port on the Channel Island of Guernsey and bases at the airports of Jersey and Guernsey.

History

The company was founded in 2001 by Le Cocq 's Stores as Le Cocq 's Airlink for cargo flights between Bournemouth and Alderney. The passenger traffic was recorded between these two airports in 2002. 2003, the name was changed to Rockhopper (German rock hopper ). The main base was moved in 2006 from Alderney to Jersey, is owned by the Healthspan Group. In the same year Rockhopper was again, this time renamed to Blue Islands BAe Jetstream 32EP and the first was bought for the new lines of Jersey and Guernsey, the Isle of Man. In 2007, the rail network has been extended to the connection from Guernsey to Southampton and to 108 flights per week between the Channel Islands. Blue Islands also launched a regular service between Jersey and Beauvais at Paris as well as Alderney to Brighton.

The connections between the islands has been converted temporarily to the shuttle operation. Every two hours is flown between the islands. In April 2011, all connections to and from Alderney were discontinued for lack of profitability. A major competitor of the Company is Aurigny Air Services.
