BM Valladolid
Cuatro Rayas BM Valladolid ( Valladolid Club Balonmano ) is a Spanish handball club from Valladolid.
History
In 1975, the predecessor club, " Asociación Cultural Deportiva Michelín " founded; since 1986 is called the Club BM Valladolid. For a long time in the shadow of the great neighbor Ademar León, the team managed to turn of the millennium the breakthrough, but lost the EHF Cup final in 1998/99 against THW Kiel, the final of the City Cup 1999/ 00 against the TV Großwallstadt. 2003/ 04 and 2005/ 06 stood BM Valladolid even in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup contest, but lost again, this time against Portland San Antonio and Medwedi Chekhov. In the 2006/07 season now the team made its debut in the Champions League. It turned in the quarterfinals of even the VfL Gummersbach, but lost in the semifinals against the SG Flensburg -Handewitt. 2009 Valladolid won the European Cup Winners' Cup for the first time a European Cup competition.
The current coach of BM Valladolid is Juan Carlos Pastor. Between BM Valladolid Ademar León and there is a pronounced local rivalry.
