BMW X6
BMW X6 ( 2008-2012)
The BMW X6 (E71 ) is a cross between a sports utility vehicle and coupe the automaker BMW. BMW uses the term Sports Activity Coupé (SAC ).
The X6 Concept was unveiled at the IAA 2007 in Frankfurt am Main and went in spring 2008 series. While most of the BMW X6, as the X5 (E70 ) in the BMW plant in Spartanburg (USA) are manufactured, produced for Russia at Avtotor in Kaliningrad.
Technology
The marketed from May 2008 car features next to the led by BMW under the brand names xDrive four-wheel drive as standard with Dynamic Performance Control (DPC ). The xDrive distributes drive forces variably and continuously between the front and rear axle. The newly introduced by the manufacturer with the X6 DPC also ensures a continuously variable distribution of drive torques between left and right rear wheel. This increases driving stability, which should also result in curves on the road to improved handling as well as advantages in the field.

Interior
Engines
For the first time in the X6 a newly developed 4.4-liter V8 engine is offered, which features High Precision Injection ( direct gasoline injection of the second generation ) and the twin-turbo technology. A world novelty here is the arrangement of the two turbochargers between the two V8 cylinder banks.
2010 Twin Turbo engine in the xDrive35i was replaced by the N55 with a turbo ( twin-scroll ).
Through the use of Efficient Dynamics measures such as brake energy recovery, reduced rolling resistance tires and air damper control the X6 achieved with very powerful engines compared to other vehicles of this size less extreme values for fuel economy.
The following engines are available for the X6:
A greener, more fuel efficient hybrid version of the X6, which has already been presented in Frankfurt under the name of BMW Concept X6 ActiveHybrid, has been introduced in the fall of 2009. She is 13 mm longer than the normal X6 and also has a slightly different front.
The X6 M has a twin-turbo V8, which is the first turbocharged M engine. Basis for the M engine is the familiar 4.4-liter V8, which is also build in the xDrive50i. ActiveHybrid X6 (E72 )
The full hybrid version of the X6 came in April 2010 on the market. The vehicle has a built- in model X6 50i 4.4-liter V8 with twin turbocharger and an output of 300 kW ( 407 hp) at 5500-6400 rpm and a torque of 600 Nm at 1750-4500 rpm. Is supported, the engine of two integrated in the transmission housing electric motors with 67 or 63 kW ( 91 or 86 PS). Facelift

Callbacks
On 23 August 2011, the Federal Motor Transport Authority issued a recall of the models of the BMW 1 Series, 5 Series and 7 series, X3, X5 and X6 SUV. Affected are the model years 2008 and 2009. Reason is the fuel filter heater, overheat and can lead to a vehicle fire.
On August 21, 2013, was again a callback to the models in the 1, 5 and 7 - series and the two SUV X5 and X6. Affected are approximately 35,000 vehicles and onwards from May to November 2009. Reason for this is, according to the Federal Motor Transport Authority, a defect in the fuel filter heater for diesel models, which can lead to a vehicle fire.
