Bob Bell (motorsport)

Robert " Bob" Bell ( born April 10, 1958 in Belfast, Northern Ireland ) is a British engineer and manager. Since 2011 he is technical director at the Formula 1 racing team Mercedes Grand Prix. Previously, he was from 2003 to 2010 Technical Director of the chassis department and from September 2009 to early 2010, team principal at Renault F1.

Bell studied aerodynamics and worked in the field of aviation. However, he soon sought an area where he could observe the progress and development of his work direct - for example, in automobile racing.

Bell moved to F1, where from 1982 he worked for McLaren and was responsible for research and development.
