Bobby Valentín

Bobby Valentín (born 9 June 1941 in Orocovis, Puerto Rico), actually Roberto Valentín, also known as " El Rey del Bajo " is a Puerto Rican salsa musician and bandleader.

Career

Bobby Valentin learned early on from his father playing guitar. When his mother died in 1947, the family of Orocovis moved to Coamo. At age 11, he took part with a musician trio at a local talent contest and won the first prize as a singer. On the advice of a teacher Valentin visited the Jose I.
