Body of European Regulators of Electronic Communications

The Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC ) (English Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications ( BEREC ) ), is an existing committee since 2010 of European Regulators for Electronic Communications and works in collaboration with the European Commission. The Agency was established by Regulation ( EC) No 1211/ 2009 and the seat of the Secretariat is located in Riga, Latvia.

The agency consists of representatives of the 27 national regulatory authorities and is based at the European Commission, which some important states wanted to avoid to the last. Especially Germany and Spain BEREC would only grant the status of a " private club ".
