Bogatyr Komir (Russian Богатырь Комир ) is the largest coal mining companies in Kazakhstan based in Ekibastus. It was founded in 1913.

In fiscal 2008 Bogatyr Komir promoted 42 million tons of coal, about 40 percent of the total coal production in Kazakhstan. The company employs about 20,000 people and had sales in 2007 of 300 million U.S. dollars.

History

After the discovery of coal in the region around the Kazakh city Ekibastus in 1867 AG started production in 1913 by the Voskresensky mines. In 1954, the Central Mine was put into operation.

The Bogatyr mine was developed from 1965 to 1979 in nine steps. It has an annual production capacity of 56.8 million tons of coal.

In the 1990s, new investors came to the region and founded in September 1996 Bogatyr Access Komir.

Since 2009, the company is owned by the Kazakh state holding company Samruk - Kazyna and RUSAL, the world's largest producer of aluminum, out. In March of the same year Bogatyr Access Komir was renamed Bogatyr Komir.
