Bogdan LobonÈ›

Bogdan Ionut Lobonţ ( born January 18, 1978 in Hunedoara ) is a Romanian football goalkeeper. He is currently under contract with AS Roma and Romanian goalkeeper. He participated in the European Football Championships in 2000 and 2008.

Career

Bogdan Lobonţ started his career with his hometown club Corvinul Hunedoara when he aufrückte at the beginning of the 1995/96 season in the first team, which played into the second-class Divizia B. Once in the course of the season he could win a regular place himself and his performance confirmed in the following year, he moved in 1997 to the Romanian giants Rapid Bucharest. His debut in Divizia A he gave on August 2, 1997. Too, at Rapid he conquered immediately a regular place and won in 1998 the Romanian Cup and in the 1998/99 season, the Romanian championship.

During the winter break 1999/2000 Lobonţ Rapid left and moved for a transfer fee of 3 million Euros to Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie. When Ajax is Lobonţ but could not prevail because of injuries and lack of experience, so he was loaned for the second half of the 2001/02 season at Dinamo Bucharest, where he again won the Romanian championship. After returning to Ajax he managed there during the 2002/ 03 season as a springboard to regular players, and in 2004 finally winning the Dutch championship.

After he had in 2004 lost his place due to injury and from then on no longer was used, Lobonţ moved to the winter break 2005/ 06 as a replacement for the injured Sebastien Frey for 1.5 million euros to Fiorentina, but was from the fit-again Frey in the season 2006/ 07 displaced again. Thereupon Lobonţ joined for a transfer fee of 1.1 million euros in the winter break 2006/ 07 Dinamo Bucharest, where he again became Romanian Champion in 2007.

In August 2009, he finally left his native Romania and was committed for € 800,000 from the Italian giants AS Roma. There he was behind the two Brazilians Júlio Sérgio Bertagnoli and Doni however, only the number three, and came in 2009/10 only three compulsory bets: the first he denied on Matchday 7 of Serie A against Napoli, when he replaced the injured Júlio Sérgio came on, and in January he was against Chievo Verona again because of a red card for Doni to score. His single game over 90 minutes completed Lobonţ the meaningless 3-0 win on the last day of group matches of the UEFA Europa League at CSKA Sofia.

In August 2010 the Romanian state in the Super Cup against Inter Milan on the field, the game was, however, lost 1:3. After Júlio Sérgio end of September 2010 had injured the ankle, Lobonţ was preferred to Doni and drew 1-0 against Inter Milan to score and took the Brazilians until his return in late October in a total of six games. Also in December he represented Sérgio which precipitated due to muscular problems in two games. But when Sérgio temporarily could not accumulate in the rear series, not the Romanian, but Doni came as a replacement for use. Only on the final day of the Serie A in a 3-1 against Sampdoria Lobonţ was again used.

For the 2011/2012 season, the two Brazilians left the Roma and the Dutchman Maarten Stekelenburg has been committed as a new number one. Behind him Lobonţ is now the number two. When Stekelenburg on 17 September in a 0-0 draw against Inter Milan drew upon a concussion, the Romanian came on and also denied the following three league games up to Stekelenburg return, the Roma remained undefeated and suffered only two goals.

National

Lobonţ has played 83 games for the Romanian national football team. He made his debut on 2 September 1998 against Liechtenstein. Coach Emerich Jenei nominated him though for the Euro 2000 in Belgium and the Netherlands, but built on Bogdan Stelea so that Lobonţ was not used. Since 2002 Lobonţ is goalkeeper of the national team. In the EURO 2008 in Austria and Switzerland, he was considered one of the best goalkeepers of the tournament, but could not prevent the scarce Romanian withdraws after the first round. Since the EM However, he is no longer the undisputed number one in goal for the Romanians and initially took turns with Ciprian and Costel Pantilimon Tătăruşanu.

After he was one and a half years no longer considered Lobonţ returned to the national team in May 2012.
