Bogotá Half Marathon

The Bogota Half Marathon (Spanish Media Maratón de Bogotá ) is a half-marathon in Bogotá, which takes place in late July or early August since 2000. He is one of the most important road races around the world. Including the addition tition over 10 km in 2009 came more than 45,000 runners to the finish.

The flat course begins at the Plaza de Bolivar, describes an arc to the north of the city and ends in the Parque Metropolitano Simón Bolívar. In comparison to similar highly doped events relatively slow times due to the extreme altitude of Bogota ( 2640 m).
