Bogusław Radziwiłł

Boguslaw Radziwill ( Lithuanian Boguslavas Radvilos; May 3, 1620 Gdansk, † December 31, 1669 in Königsberg, Duchy of Prussia, now Russia) was a Lithuanian nobleman, magnate, statesman and Imperial Prince of the Holy Roman Empire. As the son of Janusz Radziwill (1579-1620) he was descended from the noble family of Radziwill ( Lithuanian Radvilos ). His mother was Elisabeth Sofia Radziwill, a subsidiary of Elector John George of Brandenburg.

Life

Bogusław held in the Republic of Poland - Lithuania, various offices, he was from 1636 standard-bearer of Lithuania, from 1646 Grand Master of Lithuania, Starosta of a bar and multiple Member of the Polish parliament, he also held the rank of field marshal in the service of the Swedish crown under King Charles X Gustav, as well as governor of the Duchy of Prussia (1657-1669) in the service of the Elector Frederick William of Brandenburg. 1667, he was a regiment of the regiment Eulenburg walk.

He graduated in 1655, along with his cousin Janusz Radziwill, the Union of Kėdainiai with the Swedish king Karl X Gustav, which by hated him at the poles and made the traitors and the Lithuanians to the patriots who tried the Grand Duchy of Lithuania prior to conquest the Tsardom Russia to save under Tsar Alexei. However, he preferred Russia Poland, because he supplied the Russian army commander Ivan Chowanski with important intelligence information against Poland.

Prince Bogusław Radziwill died in 1669 in the Prussian exile and was buried in Königsberg Cathedral. After three years of work the grave slab of Anna Radziwill and Boguslaw on the north wall of the cathedral in 2009 is resurrected.

Since he left no male descendants, died the Calvinist Prince Radziwill line of the house on Biržai and Dubingiai with him.

Marriages and descendants

Boguslaw Radziwill was from 1665 to his cousin Maria Anna Radziwill ( 1640-1667 ), daughter of Janusz Radziwill and Katarzyna Radziwill nee Potocki married. From this marriage sprang a daughter:
