Bohdašín (Rychnov nad Kněžnou District)

Bohdašín ( German Bochdaschin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers east of Nove Mesto nad Metují and belongs to Okres Rychnov nad Kněžnou.

Geography

Bohdašín is on the left side of the river Olešenka in the northwestern foothills of the Eagle Mountains. In the village of Potok Bohdašínský springs. North of the village, on the opposite side of the Olešenka Valley, located on a rocky outcrop, the remains of the castle Frymburk. In the northeast is the Marian Sanctuary Rokole.

Neighboring towns are Mezilesí, Bydlo and Doly in the north, Novy Hradek and Rokole in the northeast, Tis the east, Janov and Bystré the southeast, Ohnišov in the south, southwest, and Slavoňov Vanovka in the northwest.

History

The castle belonging to the reign Frymburk Bohdašín village was mentioned in 1534 in connection with the sale by Achilles Andel Ronov to Jan Trček of Lipa first documented. The town's name is supposedly derived as Sin by a mountain man greeting Boh, which expresses the hope for a rich Erzfund. In the Valley of Olešenka iron ore was funded since 1446 and it was an iron hammer in operation. Among the Trček of Lipa rule Frymburk was connected to Opočno in the 16th century.

After Hieronymus von Colloredo- Wallsee 1721, the parish in Novy Hradek, who set up as a branch of Slavoňov, which until then church belonging to Slavoňov village was umgepfarrt after there. 1786 the church became a parish church in Novy Hradek and attached to her Slavoňov as a branch. 1822 a bell tower was built in Bohdašín. 1829, the house was taken up weaving as a sideline.

After the abolition of patrimonial Bohdašín 1848 an independent village. The village consisted at that time of 61 houses and 419 inhabitants had. Belonging was the district Vanovka in whose eleven houses 60 people lived. 1930 the community had 442 inhabitants, of whom 335 lived in Bohdašín, 59 and 49 in Bydlo in Vanovka. 1937 Bohdašín was electrified.

After the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich and the destruction of lagers Bohdašín was surrounded by the Wehrmacht and searched because in the village a guerrilla base and a radio transmitter were suspected, but which were in the other Bohdašín.

The municipality consists of the villages Bohdašín Bohdašín ( Bochdaschin ) and Vanovka ( Vaňov ) and the local documents Bydlo (Home) and Rokole.

  • Marian pilgrimage church Rokole, southeast of the village on the Olešenka. 1930 consecrated church replaced a wooden chapel from 1859. Continue is the pilgrimage to the Apostles Chapel Betlem of the Schoenstatt Movement. The stone Stations of the Cross of the Valley of Olešenka was created in 1874.
