Mangrove tree snake ( Boiga dendrophila )

The night tree snakes ( Boiga ) are a genus of snakes, whose representatives are mildly toxic. You have opistoglyphe fangs that are located at the maxilla. They are found in Southeast Asia, India and Australia. Due to their enormous adaptability especially the brown tree snake ( Boiga irregularis ) could also spread in other parts of the world as neozoon. Currently 33 known species are distinguished.

Description and behavior

Night tree snakes have long, thin snake body with big heads and big eyes. They vary greatly in their patterns and colors. Many bands, others are spotted and some have a uniform color. Mainly they are black, brown or green with white and yellow accents.

Boiga is a nocturnal tree snake. Their prey is lizards, birds and rodents. The strength of the toxin varies depending on the type. However, a general risk to man is not.
