Bommelsen

Bommelsen is a municipality in Lower Saxony Bomlitz County Heidekreis. In the village of about 286 inhabitants living on an area of ​​10 km ².

Location

Bommelsen located in the northern area of the municipality Bomlitz, away good 5 km from the nucleus Bomlitz. The local situation extends over 1.5 km mostly along the right side of the middle Bomlitztales. The vernacular name of Bomlitz, Bommelse, had its name to the place.

History

Is first mentioned in 835 as Bommelsen Bamlinestade (about: bank of the Little Bohemian) belonging to the lands of the monastery of Corvey, then from 1120 as Bomlose and from 1390 as Bommelsen.

Since the local government reform, which came into force on 1 March 1974, the previously separate municipality is one of eight villages in the municipality Bomlitz.

Buildings and infrastructure
