BootCD

BootCD is a tool for creating Live CDs for Apple Macintosh systems with graphical user interface (Finder and the Dock).

While the classic Mac OS operating system always was bootable from read-only media that is with Mac OS X something different. It is based on BSD UNIX, and therefore requires some manual work in order to make it bootable from CD. Charles Srstka has developed a program that automatically compiles the required components of the operating system and writes in a combustible file. These can then expand through their own programs in order to have them after reboot disk repair, diagnosis, or even surfing the Internet is available.

The latest version that works with the boot CD is Mac OS X 10.3.x (Panther).
