Boppard line

The Boppard line or Korf basket line is a isogloss in the Rhenish fan in the continental West Germanic dialect continuum. It runs between the Benrather line and the Speyer line in east-west direction. It crosses in the town of Boppard, the Rhine and separates the Central German language area in a northern area where in the dialects of the Central German word Korf or Korv prevails, whereas south of the line, the high German word basket is spoken. Along with the St. Goar line a little further south extending it separates the northern Moselle Franconian dialects lying south of the Rhine Franconian dialects of the Western -based Central German group, the St. Goar line than the more substantial dialect vagina applies.
