Boris Babochkin

Boris Andreyevich Babotschkin (Russian Борис Андреевич Бабочкин; * 5 Januarjul / January 18 1904greg in Saratov, .. † July 21, 1975 in Leningrad, now St Petersburg) was a Soviet actor.

Life

Babotschkin was the son of a merchant and a teacher in Saratov to the world. He was interested in early for the theater and attended a drama school in 1920 in Saratov, but he left a short time later. He moved to Moscow, met a few months at the drama school of Michael Chekhov and from 1921 at the School of Illarion Pewzow. It was followed by appearances at theaters in Moscow and provincial theaters, among others, in Saratov and Samarqand. In 1927 he became a member of the Leningrad Theater of Satire and played from 1931 to 1935 at the Leningrad Academic Drama Theatre. From 1935 to 1940 worked Babotschkin as director, actor, and in later years the artistic director of the Leningrad Gorky Theatre (1992 State Academic Bolshoi Theatre ). In the season 1952/53, Babotschkin chief director was at the Pushkin Theatre in Moscow and was from 1955 until his death in 1975, the ensemble of the Moscow Maly Theatre.

In 1928 Babotschkin came to the film and made ​​his screen debut in Мятеж. His international breakthrough he experienced in 1934 as the title character of the film Chapaev. In later years, he turned primarily to television, where he was repeatedly seen in Chekhov adaptations. Babotschkin died in 1975 in Leningrad and was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery.
