Boris Bakhmeteff

Boris Alexandrovich Bachmetjew (Russian Борис Александрович Бахметьев; * 1880 in Tiflis, Russian Empire; † July 21, 1951 in Brookfield, Connecticut) was a Russian engineer and diplomat.

Bachmetjew studied in St. Petersburg and at the ETH Zurich.

He was for a time ( 1917-22 ), Russian ambassador to the United States. He then became a professor at Columbia University, where he co-founded the now named after him Bakhmeteff Archive Archive for Russian culture.
