Boris Bugayev

Boris Pavlovich Bugayev (Russian Борис Павлович Бугаев; born July 29, 1923 in Mankowa ( Cherkasov Oblast, Ukraine), † 13 January 2007, Moscow) was from 1970 to 1987 Minister of Civil Aviation of the Soviet Union.

Life

Boris Bugayev occurred in 1941 in the Red Army and graduated in August the following year, the fighter pilot school in Aktobe, where he then worked as an instructor. In 1943 he was sent to the front to 215 Fliegerabteilung, the stakes performed for the supply of partisans in the German hinterland. From 1944 to 1946 he was a chain guide in this unit. Bugayev occurred in 1946 in the Communist Party a. From 1947 to 1948 he graduated from the pilot center of the Civil Air Fleet ( GWF ) and then worked in their " international Fliegergruppe ". As a pilot in the Aeroflot he undertook from 1951 several pioneering flights to the opening of new routes, so among other things, to India, Burma, Indonesia, Africa, the USA, the UK and Cuba. From 1957 to 1966 he commanded a Fliegerabteilung for special use. Besides, he graduated from 1961 to 1966 re- study for a flight engineer, this time at the University of the GWF.

In 1966 he was awarded the Hero of Socialist Labor. In the same year he was appointed Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation, one year later to his first deputy. In 1971 he was elected to the Central Committee of the CPSU and was a member of the Supreme Soviet. He also took over the Commission on international issues of civil air transport chair. In 1973 his promotion to Chief Marshal of the plane and was appointed Chairman of the Commission for Aviation Safety.

Bugayev was " Honored pilot of the USSR" (1967 ), winner of the State Prize (1972 ), winner of the Lenin Prize (1980) and the Czechoslovak Order of Labour ( 1978). He received four times the Order of Lenin and the Red Banner twice.
