Boris Mikhaylovich Zaytsev

Boris Mikhailovich Zaitsev (Russian Борис Михайлович Зайцев; born March 23, 1937 in Moscow, † February 24, 2000 ) was a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender.

Career

During his career, played the goalkeeper at HK Dynamo Moscow. Overall, he was at 251 games in the Soviet league in goal. He was appointed to the team of the Soviet national ice hockey team early on. On December 28, 1962, he was in a game against East Germany for the first time for the Sbornaja on the ice. His international career was crowned with the gold medal at the Olympic Winter Games in 1964. For the national team, he was in 7 countries playing in goal. The Ice Hockey World Championships in 1963, he and his team world champion. In 1964 he was inducted into the "Russian Hockey Hall of Fame". On December 4, 1967 he played his last international match.
