The Born Mustard & Food Ltd. is a food manufacturer from Erfurt. He is known especially for his two cents, which is served in Thuringia traditionally used for bratwurst.

History

In 1820 the brothers William and Luis Born in Erfurt Ilversgehofen founded a factory which produced mustard, vinegar and other foods. The company remained until the 1970s in the family before it was nationalized by the East German government. Since 1990, it is privately run again. CEO is Hans -Dieter Büttner. Currently, it employs about 50 people. Shareholder since 2002, the company Unterhachinger Develey mustard & Delicatessen after loosing the Austrian mustard manufacturer Mautner Markhof delicatessen already been involved. Born in law to a limited liability company and operates with its own sales and marketing completely independently in the market. Council is based in Erfurt, production site in Bad Langensalza.

For several years Born operates on Wenigemarkt in Erfurt's historic one Senfladen with a little mustard museum.

Products

In addition to various types of mustard makes the company also ketchup, vinegar, horseradish cream, mayonnaise and various salad dressings and sauces. Mustard and ketchup have a high market share in Thuringia. All products are traded nationwide.
